Terms of Use

Effective Date: March 2026 · Last Updated: March 17, 2026

The Short Version

We built a tool that reads privacy policies so you don't have to. But we're not lawyers, and this isn't legal advice — it's pattern matching with opinions. By using PrivacyPeep, you agree to these terms.

1. What PrivacyPeep Is (and Isn't)

PrivacyPeep provides automated pattern-matching analysis of privacy policy text. It scans policy language against approximately 100 predefined patterns and produces a score, a letter grade, and a list of findings.

All scores, grades, and findings are expressions of opinion generated by an algorithm. They are protected as fair comment and opinion on matters of public interest.

PrivacyPeep is not:

  • Legal advice or a substitute for consulting a licensed attorney
  • A determination of legal compliance or non-compliance
  • A finding of legal violations, wrongdoing, or liability by any company
  • A comprehensive audit of any company's actual data handling practices

The tool analyzes what policies say, not what companies do in practice. A score reflects the text of a document, not the conduct of an organization.

2. Informational and Educational Purposes Only

Results are provided for informational and educational purposes only. You accept that scores are starting points for your own research, not conclusions to act on blindly.

No attorney-client relationship, professional-client relationship, or any other advisory relationship is created between you and Cast Rock Innovation L.L.C. by your use of PrivacyPeep.

3. No Guarantee of Accuracy or Completeness

While we work hard to make our pattern library comprehensive and accurate, we make no guarantee that:

  • Every relevant issue in a policy will be detected
  • Scores are free from error or fully reflect a policy's implications
  • The tool captures legal nuance, jurisdiction-specific requirements, or contractual context
  • Patterns are current with the latest regulatory developments

A high score does not guarantee a policy is legally compliant or that a company handles data responsibly. A low score does not guarantee a company is violating any law.

4. Trademarks and Company Names

Company names, logos, and trademarks displayed in PrivacyPeep (including in the Showcase section) are the property of their respective owners. PrivacyPeep is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any company whose privacy policy is analyzed or displayed.

Use of company names is for identification and commentary purposes only, consistent with nominative fair use.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

PrivacyPeep is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We specifically disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the tool will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

6. Limitation of Liability

PrivacyPeep is a free tool. No money changes hands. Accordingly:

10. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

11. Modifications
