The bottom line: we collect nothing.

PrivacyPeep runs entirely in your browser. No policy text is uploaded. No personal data is collected. No tracking. No cookies. No accounts. We built a privacy tool that actually respects your privacy.

Data Collection

We do not collect personal data. Period.

PrivacyPeep runs 100% in your browser using client-side JavaScript. When you paste a privacy policy into the tool:

  • The text stays in your browser. It is not uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server.
  • Analysis happens locally on your device.
  • No user accounts exist. No login is required.
  • No cookies are set by PrivacyPeep (Cloudflare may set a technical security cookie; see Third-Party Services below).
  • No tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or fingerprinting is used.
  • No analytics are currently in use. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future, this policy will be updated first.

Email Addresses

If you voluntarily provide an email address through the notification or newsletter forms on the site, your email address is transmitted to Buttondown, a privacy-focused email delivery service, to manage subscriptions and deliver emails.

Buttondown stores your email address solely for the purpose of sending you the communications you opted into. No additional personal data is collected or transmitted. Buttondown's privacy policy governs their handling of your email address.

Your email is also cached in your browser's localStorage to prevent duplicate submissions. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser data.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly.

Data Sharing

We share no data because we have no data to share.

  • No data is sold to third parties.
  • No data is shared with advertisers.
  • No data is shared with data brokers.
  • No social media tracking is embedded in the site.
  • No cross-site tracking of any kind is performed.

Data Retention

There is no server-side data retention because there is no server-side data collection.

Any data stored in your browser's localStorage (such as an email address you voluntarily entered) persists until you clear your browser data. You are in full control.

Third-Party Services

PrivacyPeep uses three third-party services:

  • Google Favicon Service: When you provide a company URL, the site requests a favicon image from Google's public favicon service (google.com/s2/favicons). This request is made directly by your browser to Google. PrivacyPeep does not proxy, log, or intercept these requests. Google's privacy policy governs their handling of this request.
  • Cloudflare Pages: The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps, user agent strings) per Cloudflare's own privacy policy. PrivacyPeep does not access or use these logs.
  • Buttondown: If you voluntarily subscribe to notifications or the newsletter, your email address is transmitted to Buttondown for email delivery. Buttondown stores your email solely to send the communications you opted into. Buttondown's privacy policy governs their handling of your data.

No other third-party services, SDKs, or trackers are used.

User Rights

You have full control over your data because all data stays in your browser.

  • Access: All data is in your browser's localStorage. You can inspect it using your browser's developer tools.
  • Deletion: Clear your browser's localStorage at any time to remove all data.
  • Portability: There is no account data to export.
  • Opt-out: There is nothing to opt out of. No tracking is performed.

There is no account to delete because no accounts exist.

Children's Privacy

PrivacyPeep is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, this is inherently satisfied.

Security

There is no personal data stored on our servers to secure, because we have no servers processing your data. The site is served as static files over HTTPS, enforced by Cloudflare.

Your browser's built-in security mechanisms protect your locally stored data.

Do Not Track

We honor Do Not Track signals by default, because we do not track anyone regardless of their browser settings.

California Residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. We do not collect personal information. California residents have nothing to request deletion of, because nothing is collected.

European Residents (GDPR)

No personal data is processed by PrivacyPeep. No consent is required because no data collection occurs. Cloudflare's hosting may involve limited processing of IP addresses under Cloudflare's own data processing agreements.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting to this page. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.

Since we don't have your email (we don't collect it, remember?), please check back periodically.
